Périgord/Dordogne - Day 6 - Les Jardins du Manoir d'Eyrignac & Castelnaud

Today, our small group explored two more gems of the Dordogne.

We started the morning at Les Jardins du Manoir d’Eyrignac, where we wandered through beautifully sculpted gardens full of elegance and tranquility. Every corner felt like a work of art, with perfectly trimmed hedges, fountains, and peaceful paths—we could have stayed for hours!

In the afternoon, we visited Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, not for the castle this time, but for a charming nut oil mill nearby. We learned about traditional walnut oil production, watched the pressing process, and even tasted some of the delicious oil. The scent of roasted nuts filled the air, and the passion of the people who keep this tradition alive was inspiring.
