The African South - Day 4 - Namib - Swakopmund

Yesterday we enjoyed a beautiful sunset, and today we set off early – straight through the desert 🏜. It’s hard to imagine just how many different faces it has.

A short stop in Solitaire 😄 – complete with its quirky car wreck museum 🚕🛣.

One thing’s for sure: 📸 can’t capture the magic the same way your own 👀 can. Today we crossed the Tropic of Capricorn 🌞🌞.

Arriving in Swakopmund, we were immediately hit by the cold 🥶 – time to warm up a bit with some 🥃🍾 😅

Swakopmund is a coastal city in Namibia, with sandy beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. It was founded in 1892 by German colonists. With our limited time, we couldn’t see much more 😄😄

It’s definitely colder here than in the desert 🌞 – but the colonial architecture gives the city its own special charm 🏙🏘

We still managed to take in some great impressions. There’s quite a bit of German spoken here, and we found a lovely café by the pier where we indulged in some 🎂🍪☕️
