The African South - Day 18 - KrΓΌger NP - Johannesburg

A new day with sunshine 🌞 – up at 6:00 a.m., and as always, breakfast with that good old β˜•οΈ black water 😁.

Today’s route: the Panorama Route toward Johannesburg.

And what happens in the mountains? A flat tire πŸ™‰ – on a narrow road, of course. How much bad luck can one trip hold? πŸ˜… 25 minutes later, the guys 🚹 had it all under control – plenty of practice by now πŸ˜€πŸ‘Œ. We were rewarded with an incredible view at the Blyde River Canyon. πŸŒ„

Then onward toward Johannesburg, with a stop at God’s Window viewpoint. From the parking lot it’s 115 steps and several wooden walkways to reach the top – 440 meters and 56 meters of elevation in 11 minutes – finally some exercise πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ! We took a different trail back, with scenic rest spots along the way. The weather was 🌞🌞 but not too hot πŸ”₯.

At 1:30 p.m., we continued toward Johannesburg. According to the travel agency, the entire drive from Kruger National Park to Johannesburg should take only 5.5 hours – clearly, they’ve never been to Africa πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ.

After 12 long hours on the road, we were just grateful that our driver Erich kept going strong πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ.

Tired and worn out 😩, we skipped the goodnight cocktail 🍹 and went straight to bed. 😴
